Commercial Leg Extension and Prone Leg Curl Machine LE08 2.0

Wow - this is a great machine! After trying a bunch of rack mounted, plate loaded, budget and even mid to high end machines, this one is a keeper. It feels exactly like a selectorized machine thanks to the curve and is heavy and comfortable. I like that you can really load it up very heavy, more than most selectorized machines. The lying curl is good too, great for hamstrings and the moveable seat is good for everyone in my family. Worth every penny.

I've had this machine for a couple of months and use it weekly. I'd been looking at leg curls/ext for a long time. I almost bought the Titan one...until I used it. I couldn't justify spending the money on a selectorized for my needs. I wish this was a seated leg curl, but that's just preference. The lying leg curl works to perfection. It only took me a couple of hours to assemble. Everyone now wants an exaggerated leg extension. This does not give you the ability to do that, but you can do the leg extensions people have done for decades with no issue. Pleasantly surprised with this "budget" option. I'm glad I bought it.

Excellent plate loaded leg extension/ curl. Very well built regarding stability and movement path. The sundial adjustment for ROM start point is very good with the ability to fit a range of body sizes if more than one person uses. Padding is very good considering this is semi commercial grade. The loading pin has a 3 position leverage slider where you can fine tune felt load almost seated instead of adding more weight while is a nice feature. Roller padding feels good and is nice quality and moves just enough throughout the extension or curl as to not cause pain on bare skin. Also the for and aft back pad adjustment works well. Changing from Extension to lying curl only takes a few seconds and the hand grips for stability work well. Also has plate storage on the rear. Felt load is above average and unless you’re extremely strong for extensions. It’s definitely not 1 to 1 but strength curve feels even enough. Lying leg curl is a bit more tricky dialing in position but once set feels good but definitely tough throughout the first 1/3 range. Only knocks on the machine were the below average powder coat which had numerous paint flaking areas and changing for Ext to curl you need to wiggle the backrest slightly to lock into place for security but the pin always keeps it put once adjusted.

I couldn’t be happier with how both the leg extension and leg curl feel. The price makes in a good value for what you’re getting. The paint came chipped in a few places. The fit and finish is just ok. For the leg extension, I’m putting 7 plates on which I’m able to do because I’m using really thin plates. You could only fit maybe 4 deep dish plates on it. I’m not too far from maxing the stated weight capacity. Is this a big issue? I don’t think so, but you may use a fair number of plates on the machine. Just keep that in mind. I’m very happy with the machine and glad I have it.

Movement is smooth throughout the full range of motion. The value is a little tricky because there are cheaper options (with much cheaper build quality) and more expensive options (with weight stacks and more features). It puts this machine in a weird middle zone. While the build quality of this machine is well constructed, there are a few minor design tweaks they could make that would take it to the next level. If you have the space for a machine like this in your home gym I think it is a really solid option. I would love to see GMWD take this premium budget approach to some other pieces of equipment.
