EVO MX55 Dumbbells

Great pair of cageless, knurled adjustable dumbbells. I also have the MX100s, and I got these MX55s on a great deal. Overall I really like the design, especially the handles. I believe the handle diameter is around 29 mm, so the feel is very comparable to a standard barbell. I really like the knurling as well. Personally, I would prefer it to be a little more aggressive, but that's just my preference. I can see where MX Select made some compromises to keep them more affordable. I think it would be really interesting to see a more premium version of these. The paint will chip over time, and they do rattle, and you cant really drop them. But that doesn't really bother me. I bought these on a really good sale. Shipping is really expensive in Alaska so the sale was one of the most important things to us. The knurling is pretty atrocious and the weight selector sometimes pops out. The weight range is on the light side but they don't take up a lot of space and they work well for my wife. I wish the low end started at 5 pounds and the high end went higher. The weight selection knob is somewhat satisfying to use. Our goal is to eventually get a power rack and barbells so the 55 lb max will be fine for us.

I had these, barely got them out of the box and realized I did not like them at all. Handles are too thin, they feel cheap, handles are way too long, feels nothing like a real dumbbell. Sold them immediately.
