HR-2 Half Rack

HR-2 Half Rack

Manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, the HR-2 features the same 2x3" 11-gauge steel base and 48" x 49" footprint as the SML-2, but incorporates an additional pair of 3x3” 11-gauge steel uprights and 17” crossmembers in the back of the unit. This gives the rack a huge amount of additional storage capacity and almost a foot and a half of inside depth for benching, rack pulls, and more. The Half Rack also offers a range of customizable options to best suit your needs—including the optional plate storage and pin/pipe safety sets, and a selection of different heights for the uprights themselves (90” or 108” for the front; 70” or 90” for the back).

I honestly only bought this because the Titan equivalent was out of stock for months. I think it is slightly easier to get a mm rack than a true 3x3 rack. It requires much less customization to use rack attachments. That being said, it is a beast of a rack and I'm not sure why so many people prefer cages instead of a half rack. I'd still buy it again and 5/8" attachments are just fine. I recommend it but I'd probably recommend the Titan version over it.

I reconfigured my RML-390F to this half rack for about a year due to being in a small space. Didn’t have room for the 4 post rack plus weight storage, so this was a good alternative (only needed to buy the 17” crossmembers). I kept both 90” uprights on there, so the extra vertical storage space was nice. It’s well built like all Rogue racks and doesn’t need to be bolted down. You can usually find Rogue squat stands on Marketplace for a good price, and then purchase the half rack conversion kit from Rogue.

I have one of these in my gym. Its tan and one of the few pieces of equipment ive purchased used. I bought it from a fire station here in town. Never had any problems with it. It is noticeably heavier and better built than half racks I have from other companies. Mine has the dual chinup bar on it which I find silly. Other than that. Great piece of equipment.
