The Iron Cowboy is a great barbell. This was one of the few power bars I could buy during the pandemic--I had no prior experience with it, but Elite FTS has a positive reputation in the community, so I rolled the dice and was rewarded for it. The knurling is aggressive, and to me it compares most closely to the Texas Power Bar. It's also held up really nicely despite zero maintenance on my part. Altogether, the Iron Cowboy compares very nicely to other flagship power bars I've used, and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything at all.

I don't have one of these in my home gym, but we have one my fire departments training facility. It get used and abused by a bunch of dopes and is stored in a building that has minimal heat in the winter and no AC in the summer. It's still holding strong.

Upgraded bar from a whippy Tru Grit OLY bar that I had with no center knurling, so this was a definite upgrade. Came in clutch peaking for my return to the powerlifting platform.
Quality do-it-all bar that had minor damage of the sleeve from holding chains or something before my turn with it.
I failed a bench on it and tried to dump it. The counter weight of the plates levered it out of my hand and the plates knicked the sleeve for a minor gouge. But it barely made a dent.

Knurling is sturdy without being too sharp. Bar has a higher weight capacity than I’ll ever need. Priced similar to industry standard, worth the purchase

Got the all zinc version in clearance. I like the bar. It does what I need a power bar to do. The knurling is grippy but not sharp. It took some getting used to but I think I like it.
The bar new came with some finish blemishes and was oddly dusty inside the tube. None of those things affected performance and it wasn’t worth addressing with EliteFTS, it was just weird.
