IronMind Hub

IronMind Hub

The IronMind Hub lets any athlete test and develop their pinch grip strength through this modern adaptation of a classic, highly specialized Strongman challenge. Measuring 2-7/8” in diameter with a textured crinkle finish, the pinch gripper mimics the old-school center hub of a deep-dish 45 LB steel plate; the type “The Mighty Norseman” Karl Norberg used to lift up by the hub as a warm-up.

Fuck this thing. Hub lifting hurts worse that Horsestall Mat training. Nothing makes you feel less significant than doing a 40# hub lift. I have it for nostalgia now cause I'll be damned if I use it to train anymore.

I can't hub a 35 lb plate yet but I can hit 35 lbs with this hub. A classic implement that is always useful and is a fun piece to setup and challenge yourself with. Just make sure to warm up heavily as you use this!

This is still a classic implement. It has been contested at King Kong and other venues. It is not the same as doing actual hub lifts. It is a great training tool, especially for athletes like myself who can hub some 25 pound plates, but not 45 pound plates.

Nice way to micro load for training to hit a deep dish hub lift. Pretty slick finish, harder in my opinion than doing a hub with a 45lber, so a good training tool. Finish will chip against the loading horn when you drop it or it slips out of your hand.

Can't hub lift a 45? No worries! This implement is for you! It allows you to micro load and work up to the 45lb milestone. FYI the paint is slick so don't be afraid to season the device with chalk.

Having short fingers I like this over some of the other arm lifting events. Fun to challenge your friends!

It's part of my "grip wall," along with Ironmind's Rolling Thunder and Captains of Crush, among other equipment. If you want to certify with Ironmind on their pinch grip lift, it's definitely a must. I bought it years ago through Ironmind's website and it cost me around $50 (minus shipping). I was going to dock a star or two regarding value on that basis. But I see that you can buy it through Rogue now at a significantly lower price point. That makes it competitive with other hub-style trainers out there, and well worth the cost.

Another IM staple for the grip wall. Great to have if you want to work your pinching grip and don't have any york milled plates or HSM grippers (or even if you do)

Simple, affordable, and humbling. This is essential for training to hub lift a 45 lb plate.
