Knurled axles are the future. Highly recommend getting one. You know where to put your hands and you actually have grip while pressing and some traction while cleaning it up your chest.

I love this axle. Knurled axles are the future.
Build quality is excellent, knurl is defined, but not overly aggressive (it’s Black widow MFG version is much sharper, and while some may prefer that, the more subtle knurl is preferred IMO), and looks really good too.

I had never had the opportunity to use a knurled axle bar until LHLE 3, and although I don’t mind a smooth axle bar, I did really enjoy using this bar from Gorilla Strength. It is nice that the knurl and smooth gave me guidance on where to put my hands!

According to Bob Wiley, “There are two types of people in this world…”. In this case, it has to do with smooth vs knurled axle bar preference. It’s not refined, but is reinforced and grippy.

Awesome 2” knurled axle. 80” Long & 30 lbs
Knurl is not to sharp and not to dull, kinda just right. The ends are reinforced not just hollow.

David over at Gorilla Strength makes some great pieces and this is one of them. Unlike some axels this is not a hollow bar. This means you get a roughly 30lbs bar (it's not full length) with great knurling. The bar also includes axel collars which is a nice touch. The price on this has gone up over the years so it's not as attractive of a buy as it was previously, but still a great option from a small made in USA manufacturer.
