I love this bar. The build quality of bars from American barbell are off the charts. I know it is (was) overpriced, but when I was starting the gym and deciding what to get I was concerned with my gym not having climate control and the equipment rusting. This bar is stainless with cerakote, it isn't going to rust. In fact I've had the bar for about 4 years now and used it regularly (it is my only 20kg bar) and done almost no maintence over that time and it is in phenomenal shape. If I was competing I would probably want something with a little more aggressive knurling for heavier lifts, but while this is more passive I have never had issues with my grip on with this bar and it doesn't tear up my hands. Additionally, if you're like me and coming from a local YMCA to a home gym the knurling on this is probably going to be exponentially better than the smooth rusty barbell you're used to.

Look. I know it's discontinued and was massively overpriced. I know people complain about the passive knurl. But I love this bar.
I genuinely have never had any grip issues, and think it's mostly people's psychological appreciation for aggressive knurl that throws them off. The grip is high quality and gives it versatility with my wife and kids. They always prefer this bar to the Rogue junior bar we have for when 45 lbs is too heavy a starting weight. Why? The passive knurling.
Is the Chewy that I view as the spiritual successor to this bar probably a better power bar? Yeah. And it's on my wishlist. But I'll let go of my mammoth when they pry it from my cold dead hands.

Everything I have used from American barbell seems to be well made but just generally overpriced. This is a discontinued bar. I scored it used a few years ago and it’s a great addition for anyone that likes a power bar with passive knurling.
