The Dynasty Fitness DPB410 Multi Back Extension is a plate-loaded glute and posterior chain machine that trains hip extension with the knee held in a flexed position throughout the movement, exploiting the mechanical disadvantage of the hamstrings at a bent knee to shift the primary load onto the gluteus maximus rather than distributing it equally between the glutes and hamstrings as a straight-leg back extension does. A 9-position pneumatic leg pad with gas spring assistance adjusts to different user heights and thigh lengths with one hand, and a 5-level rear footplate height setting changes the degree of knee flexion to tune the balance between pure glute isolation and combined posterior chain activation within the same machine.
