Plate-Loaded Lat Pulldown & Low Row (4000/5000 Series)

Plate-Loaded Lat Pulldown & Low Row (4000/5000 Series)

Build out your power rack with the Lat and Low Row Attachment. This pulley system attaches to a PR-4000, PR-5000, Omni, or Apollo half rack to add cable exercises, including lat pull-down variations and seated rows. The system features a 1:1 ratio, which means a 10-pound weight will produce 10 pounds of actual resistance. The attachment comes with a lat bar and straight bar, as well as a foot plate to brace against during low rows.

I affectionately refer to my Lat/Low Row station as the poor man's Ares. It's a solid unit that has quite a bit of versatility and requires very little mantinance. Rep recommends lubricating the rods for the best experience, but it is plenty smooth without it. The trolley is a bit heavy, making iso-lateral movements challenging, but I've managed to use this for everything from leg curls and belt squats, to lateral and rear delt raises (of course it would be more easier if you could adjust the height of the pulleys, but where's the fun in that?).The system's value and performance are certainly there, and the build quality is quite high as well, but the trolley could be better. The trolley itself is made from steel, but it fits around the guide rods with a plastic cap that has detached on a few occasions (usually after lubricating the rods). Nevertheless, it is quiet, smooth, durable, and I'm constently finding new uses for it to enhance my training.

Really nice add on for REP racks. Save money by going plate loaded, just bring your own line for the guide rods!

Bought this with my original purchase for my home gym to add some cable work to my home gym. This was before they even had the weight stack ones. Works great everything I need and with the "new" addition of the daisy chain I can do some bilateral D-handle work. It can be annoying sometimes only having fixed points but you can make most exercises work.

Attachment for your PR5000/4000 racks. Plate loaded is more economical however is inconvenient to pull plates on and off. Would recommend upgrading to the selectorized option. Build quality is top notch.

Still holding up well after 5 years of use. Just to the point where I probably should replace the cables. Works well for straight pull downs, but anything with an angle will rub on the top. As a shorter person, I can’t use the top pulley for face pulls. No real issues with the low row, the adjustable foot plate works well. The plate loaded trolley might make the minimum weight a little heavy for single arm work or in general, depending on the user’s strength level. Overall, it’s a good value and space saving option if you don’t have room for a dedicated pull down or want to spend the extra money for the newer rack pulley systems that keep coming out.

Great low row and pulldown attachment for the money and to add to your rack. The low row is a bit too low, but the adjustable footplate distance from the pulley is useful. I do not like the limitation of the pulldown where the cable will snag and rub if you pull at too much of an angle. I am not exactly sure why that design choice was made, so if you want to use this for any sort of movements that aren't close to vertical, you'll have a hard time. However, it works great, and I think the plate loaded version is fine here.
