PowerBlock Elite EXP Adjustable Dumbbells

These dumbbells get more hate than they deserve in my opinion. They’re compact, tough, and adjust easy. They are greatly improved with a stainless handle upgrade.

I don't mind these, but I also prefer my Iron Masters overall. The shifting of the change weights inside is annoying even if it isn't impactful. The cage design can be useful sometimes, but I don't know if I would love these as much if they were my only dumbbell option. As a secondary option, great dumbbells.

The PowerBlock Elite EXP dumbbells are a solid compact option, but they were not ideal for my day-to-day training. They get bulky as the weight increases, and adjustments between sets can be a little annoying. The 10 lb jumps are easy enough, but adding and removing the inner 2.5 lb cylinders gets old quickly. I also liked having 2.5 lb jumps for some movements, but the setup does not give you every 2.5 lb increment, so you still hit some awkward jumps. They are built well and make sense when space is limited, but I prefer a regular set of hex dumbbells when room allows, or something like the Reppin if adjustable dumbbell is what you are targeting.

This was my first adjustable dumbbell and it’s built like a tank. This is nothing fancy but it gets the job done well. Sometimes selecting the higher weights could be tricky since my base dumbbell and the brackets didn’t always align. I would still recommend this to people who want a compact, no frills option.

This was a great set of dumbbells, aside from changing in between the 10 pound increments which was annoying. they held up well and did what I needed them to do, I upgraded to a fixed set and then eventually sold those and got the Reppins, which I think is a far superior version of these.

Mine have been going strong for 10 years! I love them but the wife finds them too bulky

Power block are the best adjustable dumbbells period. I have had this pair for at least 2 decades and will never sell them. I have tried many other adjustable dumbbells in the past before buying a full fixed set and I sold every single one except the PowerBlocks. They last forever, they have much better balance and feel than the other adjustable ss and they are priced to beat all of them.

I was never really a fan of the Powerblock design so I’ve always gone with other options. However, the design has grown on me and I picked these up for a great price. What’s flipped me is the portability of these as they’re a great travel set. You have a great weight range in a compact easy to adjust design. These are not my main dumbbells at home but they do get used. I’d say if you want a space saving option that is still pretty cheap in comparison to other options, these are great. Pleasantly surprised!

Are they my favorite adjustable dumbbells…no, but for the money they are virtually indestructible and easy to use. The grips aren’t the best, but overall they get the job done
