I really enjoy using the stability pad from Prime. It is my first and only piece I own from them (so far) and they did not disappoint. It is very expensive. There is no possible way to deny that. That being said, I have never seen anything with such a high build quality. This thing is a TANK. If I saw on the news that nuclear warheads are being launched all over the world, and I had to choose between laying under the Prime stability pad or staying in a 100 mile deep bunker, I am going to hit another set of chest supported rows and think about what I am going to do as the soon to be ruler of the postapocalyptic society that awaits me. Yes, it is a bit heavy, but I have no issues moving it around and setting it up. For storage, I keep it propped up vertically in the corner... on the floor (GASP). It is really not that big of a deal unless you are limited on space beyond belief, or if you are team anti-floor and refuse to stoop as low as I have. The value you get out of something like the stability pad depends entirely on how much you plan to use it. My chest supported row setup I use with the pad and my Voltra is the best feeling row I have ever used at any gym. My other favorite use is as back support with my pullup bar for hanging leg raises. I also use the pad for things like chest fly/press exercises, face pulls, overhead tricep extensions, or cable curls. Any standing cable movements that can benefit from some stability I setup the pad. As previously stated, this thing is expensive. It is definitely not for everyone, but I have really enjoyed it. I had some Visa gift cards laying around from participating in a research study and you can find at least a 5% discount code for Prime. I am not sure if I would have purchased it without those things, but luckily it worked out for me. Go give up a little of your time in the name of science and one day you too could possibly understand the utility in something like the Prime stability pad.

This is a very specialized attachment for the home gym space. It’s very tricky to mount and get the proper spacing for performing cable movement where you need stability and support. I use mine for Voltra pulls and a few push movements like dual bicep curls. The pad itself is very comfortable and can flip either direction and the dual sundials allow enough angle adjustment. The arm is long but also heavy and attaching with the pin and securing pop pin is a bit of a tussle. Overall it’s a very expensive piece for what you actually get but worth the price if you can use weekly numerous time. Also storage is also tricky.

The Prime Stability Pad is one of my most used rack attachments. As advertised, it improves stability on a variety of exercises, increasing control for rows, presses, flies, and a variety of other accessory movements. The stock design of this unit would be adequate for most users, but benefits from some small modifications. One is the guide/limiter pin. By removing this, you can store the unit vertically when mounted to a crossmember, as I've done. The second modification I made was swapping out the stock green pop pins for the JD Gym Equipped 'Green Delete' knurled pins. This is a strictly aesthetic modification, but is a huge visual improvement over the default green plastic pins. Modifications aside, there are some other qualities that leave much to be desired. The first is the tolerance on true 3x3" uprights or crossmembers. The unit tends to shift and move under significant load, which causes friction against the rack, undesired play during the movement, and creates an audible squeak with each rep. The second, and arguably worst quality is the pad. I'm not a fan of Prime's padding or slippery vinyl, but that's not my complaint. What really bothers me is the pad's back plate. It runs in a narrow strip down the middle of the pad, and will inevitably pull off the plywood backing, while straining the stitching - especially if load is unevenly distributed across the pad, which is inevitably the case with some movements. Storage is another shortfalls, as it's quite large, oddly shaped, and relatively heavy. Instead of storing the unit off of my rack, I've permanently mounted it to a retrofitted crossmember on my Stall bars. Overall, the product performs well, and I was very close to rating it 4 stars in the category. As much as I want to love the product, these small design deficiencies leave much to be desired. It's only a matter of time until a competitor develops a much better version of this product.

I want to love this piece but mounting it can be quite the pain. You need to make sure you have enough clearance on either side to mount it depending on what orientation your crossmembers or upright is. It has a very steep price and unless you’re creative, you probably won’t get your money out of it.

Fantastic for seated chest supported rows. If you remove the range limiting pin, you can also store it upright centered in the back of the rack. Like everything Prime Fitness, completely overpriced. But half moon pad is very comfortable and tube extends to give you full range of motion.
