I got mine years ago to do P90X, the max weight is 220lbs according to the current specs online. I was heavier than that when I used it a lot. Sometimes with a chair, as a way to do assisted pull-ups, but then when I was able to do unassisted, I used it a lot. It was good way to get pull-ups in, but wasn’t as good as a fixed bar for pull-ups.
The build quality isn’t amazing, thin metal and some foam on the bar/handles.
It also doubles as some push-up handles too. The foam is okay. If you’re in a pinch where you need a pull up bar, you don’t have a way to mount anything and you want to be able to pullups. The doorway bars like this are great for people in apartments or someone who just wants to bust out a few pull-ups any time they go thru a door. Just leave it up as a challenge.
