I bought the BoS light commercial rack off FB marketplace for a cheap price. So naturally, I got the BoS cable attachment. It opened up a lot of options for lat pulldown, low rows, curls and tricep extensions.
It attaches easily and performs as expected for a budget cable system. It feels relatively smooth for what it is, although if you don’t have the same weight on each side of the horns then it gets really mad at you.
Buttttt, the absolute biggest oversight and worst thing about this system is that the exit point for the top pulley is behind the crossbeam of the power rack, which causes the cable to drag significantly on the top cross beam, which limits movements like face pulls and single arm chest flies.
This limitation alone makes me want to upgrade my cable system, and inherently my rack sooner than I otherwise would have.
