I originally bought this plate carrier with 20lb plates before I realized I wasn't that guy. So if you're planning on getting 20s, make sure you're strong like bull, or that you can tolerate a lot of shoulder discomfort after 30+ minutes. The 10lb plates ended up being much more reasonable. I don't have any issues with the carrier itself. It seems really well built and it's comfortable enough to wear. The problem is me: I just don't use it very much. So think hard about the use case where you'd actually wear this, and make sure you can see it getting used, so it doesn't sit on a hanger most of the year like mine.

My buddy showed up to an organized ruck event with this plate carrier and I tried it on. I was not impressed with the padding or the fit. My tactical carrier was the same price but can also function as the real deal and has substantially more pockets including space for side plates. I loaded my vest with AR500 steel plates for the ruck. Why on earth would you waste money buying a vest weight that has big holes in the middle of it when you can buy AR500 plates and get plenty of weight for rucking but also have the added benefit of real world function if and when you ever need them.

This is a great minimal plate carrier that will pair well for weighted dips and pull ups. I do think if you want to do the Murph that you would want a bit more padding so the 5.11 trainer may be a better go to.

I bought this vest with 20lbs total weight (2 ten pound plates). It's help up extremely well and is comfortable enough during use. It's more expensive than a lot of other options however so if you're not serious about using a weighted vest, or aren't ordering anything else from Rogue at the time, you may be better off going with a cheaper option.
