Rubber Coated Olympic Plates

Rubber Coated Olympic Plates

REP's Rubber Coated Olympic Plates are iron plates with a rubber coating for added protection of equipment and noise reduction. The symmetrical grip holes make it easy to pick up and move the plates, and the holes allow you to use individual plates in exercises. The embossed logo and weight markings with red inlay make for an attractive, sharp look. Rubber Coated Olympic Plates fit on all Olympic, 2” diameter barbells and feature a 3% weight tolerance, making them great for strength-training and powerlifting. The plates are sold in pairs (2.5, 5, 10, 25, 35, and 45 lbs), as well as six different sets (from 175 to 425lbs). The plates come with a one-year warranty.

These are very nice rubber grip plates. These are a great choice for loading machines. The handles allow for easy handling to load and unload and the plate thickness for the 45s is very thin so you can fit plenty of plates. Quality seems about average for rubber plates so nothing special. Rep branding does look nice. I bought used and paid about $1.20 per pound so a good value.

I have had these plates for 5 years and they still look great. The thick handles make them easy to handle.

I picked up a pair of 25s and two pairs of 10s because my bumper plates were too tall for my low ceiling during overhead presses( and I hadn’t finished completing my cast iron set). I wanted an alternative to random Amazon brands, and these plates from a legit fitness company definitely fit the bill. The built-in grips are a huge plus for handling. But they are thick (the 25s are as thick as bumpers, the 10s are even thicker). The other slight downside is the initial smell. The company suggests airing them out outside overnight, so if you have a basement gym, be prepared for this (and it actually took longer. One night didn't cut it). Overall, I’d recommend these for anyone looking for this style of weight plates; just maybe let them air out in a garage or outside for a few days first!

They’re the best value I found for rubber coated plates during the plague. The handles makes them easy to move around the gym. They’ve been outside for over 6 years and haven’t had any issues. The red lettering looks pretty good too.

They are rubber coated plates. I only have the 45s. Handle is nice for moving them around the gym. No issues with using them in any bars I own. Bit of a smell at first but it went away. No issues with the rubber coating tearing or becoming brittle.
