S-4 Squat Stand 2.0

S-4 Squat Stand 2.0

The Rogue S-4 2.0 sets a new standard for independent squat stands, combining the strength and stability of two 7-gauge steel H-bases with the efficiency of a new bolt-together, triangle-plate design. Each unit includes a pair of 72" Infinity uprights with hole spacing in the Westside pattern through the bench zone—so users can specifically set up the included J-cups at 1” increments. Indy squat racks are often preferred by Olympic lifters for their small footprint and low profile design. True to form, the new S-4 Stand takes up very little room on a platform (each base has just a 26"x22" footprint) and can easily be moved by one person.

These are fantastic stands for use with weightlifting training. Notice that I said weightlifting not powerlifting. These are really meant to be brought on a platform and used with bumper plates where safeties aren't a thing as weightlifters bail on misses. I have loaded mine up to 600lbs with no stability issues. I will be looking to add roller J-cups though as they do not come with those which will be handy for heavy front squats. Also, these are much convenient for storage in a home gym as compared to traditional squat stands.

I have had the S-4 Squat stand since may 2020. This was the squat stand that my weightlifting gym, Alee Athletics had and seemed like a great solution for a garage gym. I wanted something that eventually when I lived in an apartment could fit inside of a closet, which was a huge plus over standard squat stand designs. I have personally squatted 211kg out of this rack, and have had a teammate squat 300kg out. The base is heavy and wide enough that it is stable even with heavy loads. Recently I stopped using this as my primary in favor of a wall rack, but when i have friends over i have modified it to use the 3/4 inch hitch pins for the feet rather than the bolts. It functions just the same, but allows me to separate the feet from the post to mount on the wall. I would HIGHLY recommend this solution if saving space is a concern even beyond this minimal footprint. If all you do is squat or overhead press from the rack, and you don't need spotter arms or want attachments, this is perfect for you, like it was for me for so long!

Compact and easy to move squat stands. Easy to tuck out of the way, making them a great option for those limited on space. Individual stands let you customize the width. I originally bought in 2016 and ultimately upgraded to a power rack in 2020. They served me well, but better options exist today for the price point. Primary factor that pushed me to upgrade was not being able to use safeties.
