Bought secondhand buy these appear to have been cut and painted. Definitely enjoy the thinness of these plates.

I needed some fractional plates for my circus dumbbell but my set had too tight of a tolerance to fit. Received advice to try out 2” washers so I picked up 4 of them at the local tractor supply store. They worked great and it allows me to add around 4 lbs, (around a 1/2lb each) which we all know makes a difference on an overhead press while you’re learning.

We’re serious lifters here. So, in order to progress our gains in a linear fashion , upper body lifts especially, we’re gonna need change plates. Change plates are the most expensive weights out there (when price per pound is the measurement)! Alternatively: Run down to the hardware store and grab four, 2 inch ID washers (these weigh ~.75 libras. each) Ask one of the old dudes sipping coffee in the hardware store if he could weld them together for you in his barn or whatever… Viola! You have a pair of 1.25lb change plates and now you can increase your lifts by 2.5 pounds or ~1kg. Cost: $10 per pair (the old guy won’t let you pay him for his troubles b/c he’s just that kind of guy)
