Everything Curt said below. I've never felt unsafe using it but I use it rarely and it mostly just sits around collecting things to sit on top of it. Very reverse hyper-esque in that sense.

Bought these to belt squat off of my low row. Turns out I don't like belt squats, so now they mainly are a pedestal for my scale. PITA to assemble.
