York Vintage Olympic Deep Dish Marked

York Vintage Olympic Deep Dish Marked

The “modern” York deep-dish plates are among the most iconic and enduring designs in weightlifting history. As the final evolution of York’s earlier designs, they were produced for several decades. Featuring rounded edges and a hub-and-spoke design extending to the plate’s edges, they balanced form and function perfectly. The variation marked with “45” has a slightly shallower hub, with production believed to have occurred in the mid-1950s for a limited time. Unmarked deep-dish plates were sold both before and after this period. The deep-dish 25s and 35s, also produced for a limited time, are considered some of the finest designs ever made. It’s unclear why York ceased production and returned to flat plates. The smaller plates in this series followed earlier designs but were marked with weight.

These are iconic. Significantly more rare than the "unmarked" York deep dish plates. While I only own a single right now, it's still one of those level-up milestones for a vintage collector.

York DD Marked 45s are a cool piece to have in your gym. They're vintage, beautiful, and a little harder to find. But, I have been seeing them pop up more as time goes on. I use mine for everything I can except deadlift. They are more pricey than unmakred York DD 45s.

These are a great looking plate. I have 4 unmarked pairs and a single pair of marked 45s. They are functionally the same as the unmarked but are just 69% cooler. It took me like 5 years to persuade the owner of these to let them go. Tanner Has a cool plate wall but as of June 2026 he doesn’t own a marked pair. Owned since 2021

Clean, classic, beautiful. Deep dish, round edges and a small yet expensive “45” that sets it apart from the unmarked versions that came afterwards. If you ever have a chance to own a pair (or even one) you should take the opportunity.
