Nick’s Temple Home Gym
About the Gym
Temple Home Gym is my personal oasis—a place where I go to lift, reset, and get stronger. I started lifting for the first time in 2010, training in dozens of gyms across the country and around the world. I began keeping a running list of equipment that fit my body best and felt right to train on. In 2014, I built my first basement gym with mostly used equipment and budget pieces. Because I knew the house wasn’t permanent, I never invested in the commercial-grade machines on my list. That changed in 2022. While building my current home, I began purchasing the machines I’d been dreaming about for years—moving them into the basement long before the house was even finished. The structure was still a sealed shell with exposed 2x6 framing and generator power, but the basement gym was already functional and filling fast. Highlights include 14 commercial machines, a full set of fixed 5-115lb dumbbells, more than 7,000 pounds of free weights including 9 Vintage plate sets, and dozens of cable attachments with more equipment, vintage plates, and attachments on the way.
