My first bench was the Bowflex 5.1 which was the original design. The best way to differentiate this from the S model is the red head pad and 5 degree settings for the back pad. It’s not the best bench, build quality is a bit questionable and the bench sits a bit too high. Not the worst I’ve ever used and is much better quality than the current version being offered.

You can pick one of these beasts up for under $500 on Marketplace and you can’t go wrong for a quality cardio machine. Precor invented the elliptical and has the absolute best feeling motion in the industry.

The XT685 is the light commercial model that is meant for “vertical” markets like hotels and corporate wellness centers. It does not fold however if you have the room a non folding unit is optimal. 10 year parts warranty is fantastic and the build quality is up there. It isn’t built with the absolute best of materials however for a home gym it feels and operates just fine.

Probably one of the best leg press attachments for traditional “all-in-one” gyms. Attaches to the Hoist V Series gyms and outputs at 150% of the weight stack (200lb stack maxes out at a 300lb feel weight). The motion is unique in that the seat rises as your legs push out keeping your lower body in line and the motion comfortable. Biggest downside is the same with any of these types of units, the starting position is at the bottom that makes it uncomfortable to get positioned before the lift.

Resin formed implements with an eyelet to attach carabiners or daisy chains. They can be used for hanging exercises overhead or attached to a loading pin for grip exercises. There is no actual knurling but there is a texture built into the mold which provides a decent amount of grip.

Not a fancy d-handle cable attachment but it does the job exactly as expected. Ego handles and nylon straps, very simple design.

Technique plates are meant to be used to improve form by replicating the size of a 45lb bumper plate. They do not have a hub of any kind and are made strictly of formed resin plastic. Using them as intended work great. Quality control isn’t great as the finish/color can vary.

It’ll put a little stretch on your back in the right places. The valley in the center of the wheel allows your spine to rest comfortably in comparison to the cheaper models that are flat across the face of the wheel. Nice addition to a stretching routine.
