Adaptabell

Overall not bad if you want something ultra budget or a placeholder while you save for a better setup. My biggest complaint is the plates would get stuck on my plastic Adaptabells when I mixed between different weights (5s and 10s, 10s and 2.5s). Overall good value and much more comfortable than traditional loadable dumbbells for things like presses.

I have the pro plastic versions. Huge improvement over the spin lock 1” Yes4all handles at an affordable price. Bought more handles and cap 1” plates to give me all the Dumbell options I want to just program in to avoid the tedious plate change over. I’ve gone up to 80lbs each handle and holds up just fine. I don’t drop and even rolling I can feel a ‘resonance’ in the handle that isn’t confidence inspiring. Just don’t abuse these and you’ll have a very affordable and space saving option for dumbbell movements.

These work pretty well for the price. I don't have the room for fixed dumbbells or money for true adjustable ones, and these are much better than my old standard plate loaded ones. Since the sleeve doesn't stick out when loaded, they are much less cumbersome for presses or curls. When they are loaded they are very stable, no wobble when tightened down. They are kind of a hassle to load, so I end up using the same weight for multiple exercises and changing rep ranges. I have the Pro version made of plastic so I have never loaded them over 70 lbs, but they would probably be fine with more weight.

I was very skeptical of the plastic adaptabells at first but wow I am a believer now. Obviously for a loadable dumbbell there is the time to change plates, no way getting around that. Coming from someone who loves the feel of prostyle dumbbells, using these with standard weight plates gives a similar feeling. I was very surprised at how well the weights fit when tightened, there is no movement at all when you tighten them down. Overall for $50 these are a no brainer for a budget home gym.

Overall pretty solid, especially once setup. Work really well with my Olympic plates when using the Olympic plates adaptors. Making minor weight adjustments is so slow I will generally have to add/subtract reps rather than adjust the weight to dial intensity. Feel really good when pressing. Aluminium thread does seem to be wearing a bit over time.

Once set up they’re a solid experience. Changing weights is a pain however. Having historically used terrible spin lock adjustables their form factor feels and looks great. Recently got some hand me down Bowflex 552s and these will be relegated to heavier loading. Also had fitment issues with standard 1” plate fitting over the male thread which sucks because unable to load it to sub 10lbs securely for some rehab movements.

Overall not a bad product if you don’t have dumbbells. Setup can be a pain.

I own two sets of the Pro (plastic) version of these adjustable dumbbells and have had a great experience with them. They pair well with the 2.5lb, 5lb, and 10lb change plates I already own. Despite the plastic construction, I find them sturdy when loaded; there's no risk of them unscrewing during movement. I enjoy the handle diameter and plastic knurling, which are much better than I expected and mimic the feel of fixed dumbbells. They feel good. When I use them: -Single arm or movements to avoid the cage of an adjustable -Make up additional pairs of dumbbells for drop sets (I don’t see myself buying fixed dumbbells anytime soon) -Making up additional dumbbells for the kids Things to know: -Slow to change, I wouldn’t want them as a primary or my only pair -Durability, they are plastic, imo, they should be treated like it. Overall, I think they are great value for what they are.

Compared to normal plate loaded dumbbells these are iffy. If you don't mind taking more time to load them up and then tighten them then these are great. They are very good for heavy loading as they'll stay nice and tight and won't wobble and you can set them on your legs w/out putting a hole in them. I'd recommend getting them in addition to a normal plate loaded db for heavy lifting. Don't let them be your first.

I have the max versions, which I bought while they were running a special that allowed me to upgrade to the max for a few dollars. The standard price for the max ones is far too high. If these were cheaper, I would probably buy a few pairs and make a bunch of pro style dumbbells with them. I think they feel pretty good, but they are a pain in the ass to change the weight. So I have a set weight in my pair that I sometimes do incline curls with and that is about it. It might have been a supply chain issue when I purchased mine, but they took like 4 months to arrive. I am assuming that is much better now.
