B&R Bar 2.0

B&R Bar 2.0

Version 2.0 of the B&R Bar is built to the specifications of the bar’s original designers—strength training coaches Mike Burgener and Mark Rippetoe—with some enhancements from Rogue’s in-house manufacturing team. Along with custom-tailored dual knurl marks for Olympic lifting and powerlifting, the bar features a center knurl, a stronger 205,000 PSI shaft, and snap ring design. Quality bronze bushings produce a smooth, reliable spin, and the natural steel creates a great, old-school look and feel that few finishes can compete with. Engineered to be a versatile barbell, the Rogue B&R Bar 2.0 is ideal for core lifts—the squat, bench, and deadlift due to its 29MM shaft diameter, but can also be used for the Olympic lifts—clean and snatch, and everything in between.

Bought t this new for $295 in 2021, back when most every rogue bar was under 3 bills. No complaints with this bar. It is multipurpose and I can't help but think if it should be 29mm or 28.5mm. Bare steel and standard knurling are nice. When deadlifting kind of wish I had a 28.5mm bar, but I guess that's why a lot of people have more than one barbell. No complaints, good bar. Kind of wonder how long they will offer it or if it will go by the way of the Castro bar...

I don't know very much about barbells, but I know I love this one. Maybe my mind would be blown if I tried another general-purpose bar, but in my experience this one has been perfect. OK, maybe one caveat. Rogue has tightened the tolerances on this bar for quieter performance since I bought mine six years ago, so if keeping the noise down in your home gym is a priority, that's a good argument for buying new instead of used. Other than that, nothing but love for this bare steel classic.

This is my absolute favorite barbell, its like an updated version of an old school barbell. Its stiff, has dual ring knurl marks with a excellent knurl. Some people don't like bare steel but honestly after 3 years the bar has held up great and only gotten slightly darker. This or the Ohio Power bar would be my recommendation as the best bar for the money.

Love this bar I have 3 of them in my gym. Less aggressive knurl makes it a darn good all around barbell.
