Barbell Storage - Custom/DIY

YOU CAN GRAB SOME HOOKS FROM HOME DEPOT AND UTILIZE YOUR WALLS FOR EXTRA STORAGE I ALWAYS TEND TO LEAD TO ADDING SOME WOOD TO ATTACH INTO STUDS FOR EXTRA STABILITY AND NOT WORRY OF IT COMING OUT OF YOUR WALL THAT IS NOT ANCHORED INTO JUST DRYWALL ETC

I’ve built two DIY barbell storage systems. My original design was a horizontal gun rack style. I mounted two 2x6 (2x4 would have worked) to the wall and added angled 1x3 boards to hold up the barbells. My current system is a vertical hanging system using some Amazon brand shovel hooks that are mounted to the same 2x6. This version was easier to build an is more easily expandable. The only difficulty is that the SSB is a bit more cumbersome with the vertical storage but still works. I also like the vertical storage because it’s no longer a makeshift ladder for my toddler!

One of the cheapest options I’ve found. Simple rubber coated hooks from Lowe’s. Have been hanging for over 2 years.

Find this the best use of space and they support themselves. Not hanging off the wall. If I was to re do it id make the top holes slightly higher to make getting the bars in and out easier, not that its hard now

Build this for my Titan camber bar. Used a piece of scrap lumber to extend the bar off the wall. The hardware is from Home Depot. The hooks each have a 50 lbs capacity rating . Maybe could have gotten away with using one, bur wanted to be sure the bar would be secure. Fairly cheap project for under $20.

I used a "hurricane hook" off of amazon to store this REP multigrip camber bar. It works great, keeps it out of the way and you can't beat the price. The problem I had with storing this bar on the gun rack is that it would always roll forward so this took care of that problem.

Made this old girl out of some scrap metal my dad had laying around, don't judge my welds I'm a novice welder. If I were to do it again I'd probably try to fit 8 tubes. Tubes are 9in tall which is great, stability is fine enough to sit in a corner.
