The Matt Chan bar was my first barbell purcahse. I bought it because it was considered to be a great "all purpose" bar, and it looked great. Years later, still looks as good as day one.

The first high quality bar that I purchased for my home gym. This one is an amazing daily driver with a lot of little touches that really set it apart. First, it's a beautiful bar. The logos and the all black design make this a stunner. It will last you a lifetime. The center knurl being passive for squats is a really nice touch. The knurling itself is probably "moderate-aggressive". I think if you're starting out and need an extremely versatile barbell for olympic lifts as well as powerlifting, then this is your bar. I would recommend it for most home gym users since it is just so versatile and will last you forever. It's not cheap, but it definitely stands out.

Bought this bar for my Partner as they didn't like the aggressiveness of powerbars. The bare passive middle knurling makes it great to stick a bit more than other bars with a normal coating without digging in. The quality is top-notch, as years of use still has it looking almost as new, even the sleeves. Only real downside is the price.

This was probably the 2nd or 3rd bar I purchased. I mainly used it for deadlifting to save my shins until I decided to purchase a deadlift bar from Rogue. It's a great bar; I don't use it much anymore since I have DL bars and ones spec'd out for the federation I lift in. Just sold to a buddy 2026
