Deep Knurl Power Bar EX

We have this in stainless steel and it's a genuinely good bar — though compared to the Ohio SS, the knurl reads as noticeably more passive. That's not a knock for everyone: several training partners actually prefer the softer bite for higher-rep or longer session work. Know your preference before buying, and factor that into the decision.

I bought this bar, since discontinued, for $297, which at the time was insanely cheap for a stainless steel bar. I have really loved having it and run it through the rotation with my other power bars (and I've got a lot of them) and this holds up just as well. I like it for higher rep workouts because, while the knurling is pretty sticky, it's not as sharp as some of my other bars. It will hold in your hands for a set of 6-8 deadlift reps and if you try that with a Ohio or Texas power bar, you're asking for trouble. I've seen a number of people complain that the stainless rusts, but that hasn't been my experience. The only thing I've noticed is that the color of the stainless is different from the other stainless bars and handles I own.

Rep ran deals on these pretty frequently a few years back. I think I got mine for $230 before tax, which was a steal for a stainless steel bar. That said, that's where it gets my only points deduction, and that's the quality of the stainless steel. It has shown some minor rust, even though I've taken very good care of it. I love the color of the stainless steal they use though, as it has (or had when new) a nice matte grey finish to it. Value wise was great, and even the equivalent option these days since my version was discontinued are pretty dang good value (the Double Black Diamond bar they have now is a pretty close clone). Though I probably would have taken 1 star off for value if I were rating the Double Black Diamond bar, since Rogue barbells are still king, often for a very little upcharge over Rep, or even the same price at times. Performance is great too, especially at the price point. I've had the bar probably 5 years or so now, and it still performs the same as day one. I wish I could say the same for myself.

This is my "do everything" bar. It was cheaper than the Ohio Power Bar and of better quality than comparable bars on the market at the time. Rep has since discontinued it and replaced it with their Rocky Mountain theme bar (i.e., Black Diamond). I would love to get their newest stuff but this bar scratches just about every itch.

Got this bar before it was discontinued when Rep came out with their new line of barbells. Stainless steel with an aggressive knurling. If one pops up on fb marketplace I would highly recommend!

This bar has been discontinued. Knurl is super grippy without tearing your palms. A step above the OPB in my opinion.
