Finished product works great, though I'd prefer something different for the handles. A smooth dowel doesn't cut it. It was fun to make but I think I would just buy some ready made next time.

WELL I AM A UNCONVENTIONAL PERSON WHO LIKES TO DIY A LOT OF MY STUFF AROUND THE GYM AND DO THINGS THAT WILL WORK TILL I BUILD THE LEGIT PRODUCTS I USED THESE STRAPS AS MY FARMER CARRIES AND THEY HOLD UP JUST GREAT BUT I USE THESE TO KEEP MY CONDITIONING IN CHECK MORE THAN ANYTHING VERY COST EFFECTIVE AND DOES WHAT I INTEND TO GET OUT OF THESE

I am a fan of these. 6"x6"x4' in length. Some steel piping and some insane screws. All in about $225 Canadian. Could have been cheaper but I built these to last. They are about 33.25 lbs a side.

Farmers carries are hard. There’s no way around it. I went to the Dam Institute and used these and will likely build my own with Steve’s help.
We may adapt the grips to be a bit more tight. But essentially a 4x6 with some piping is all we need. LFG.
Update: built my own. Used a 6x6 and added 8 inch handles so I had more room to slide. These are a beast and I’ll be adding them to my outdoor gym workouts starting this week.

6x6 lumber scraps, 1.5in galvanized posts, 1in galvanized handles, hockey tape, and some floor flanges. It ain’t much but it’s honest work.

Have a few custom farmers made by a local fabricator gannon. There better then our Titan ones for sure

While these were a good idea and easy to make for someone who can do concrete work, they can be a bit unwieldy and the edges can draw blood. When I first made these, I couldn't even get them off the ground.

I built mine out of 4x4, 2 inch PVC pipe for the weight pins, & plumbing pipe for the handles.
I went with 3/4 pipe for the handle, and I regret that as it’s so thin, it is almost more challenging than a larger sized handle because it digs into your hand much more. 1 or 1.25 inch would have been better.

I have used a handful of different custom or diy farmers handles and I’d say asking at they are top loadable you are good to go.

Super affordable diy project! Two 10 ft 4x4s, one 8 ft 2x4 and a pair of crappy spinlock dumbbell handles, chain link fence post for the weight pegs. Weigh 42 lbs empty and have a pick height of 15 in. Seem solid enough, have loaded 140 lbs on there no problem! Minimal skill needed.
