FM-HR Twin Functional Trainer

I think this rack is absolutely great. I have limited space and this makes it so I’m not missing out on much when I workout at home.

Technically this isn't the version I bought- I started with a 4 post rack, then expanded to a 6 post and added the twin stack, then later shrunk down to this layout. But this version fits the best in my setup now- the footprint is very small while opening up tons of potential exercises. This machine is a primo example of Rogue quality and overbuilt-ness. Giant trolleys with massive pulleys, big weight stacks, etc. Necessary? Absolutely not, but I love it. Everything is incredibly smooth and will last forever. Price is the big sticking point- I got my twin stack add-on before the most recent price increases, and I can't say the current price is worth paying versus the competition. For whatever reason, Rogue racks are pretty close in price to the other big companies but their FT racks are way more. The quality might be higher, but functionality wouldn't be that much different. For me though, very glad to have this and would never consider replacing it with anything else.

The workhorse of my gym. I'll recommend getting the shrouds as it becomes another place to put magnetic hooks or bins toward, as well as the 300 pound upgrade so you will never be strong enough to outlift the machine. Attachments are great, build quality is awesome. One issue I found and has been mentioned other places is that the HR has smaller space to put spotter arms compared to the 6 post version. You'll have to move the cable out of the way to do it. Minor inconvenience for me, but I know it can grind folks gears. Another potential issue of the FM HR is there is little in the way of permanent side attachments you can put on the holes due to the shrouds and cable system. I have struggled to find places to put landmine attachments and other barbell holders in a way that makes the rack carry everything, but it's hard to get around the shrouds and other cable parts to make it work. I've found other solutions, but just a warning if you though you could attach everything and leave it on I am happy with my choice at the end of the day. I got it for the all in one aspect as well as the smallest footprint without comprising on stack weight and plate storage. If you prefer or have room to hang things on a wall you might be able to pursue other options, but if you want something literally stacked this is a great way to go!

Center piece of my 10x11 Bedroom Gym that serves as a rock-solid solution to small gym functionality. It’s a pleasure to use, but the half-rack form factor needs good workout planning to reduce setup time. Analog (for those of us who aren’t crazy about e-stacks) and will last a lifetime.
