Hades™ Deadlift Bar

Hades™ Deadlift Bar

The Hades™ deadlift bar is REP’s top-tier deadlifting-specific barbell. This 20kg (44.1lb) bar features no center knurling and very aggressive, deep, mountain-style knurling to provide maximum grip support for heavy deadlifts. The thinner diameter shaft (27mm vs. 29mm for a standard powerlifting barbell) and longer total length (7.6’ vs. 7.3’) allows for more flex under heavy loads. The added flex in the shaft allows the lifter to pull from a slightly higher position as the weight leaves the ground, which is more optimal, and can contribute to heavier lifts. All measurements of the Hades™ bar adhere to powerlifting standards for federations that use a deadlift bar. Powerlifting knurl markings help with proper hand placement. The Hades™ deadlift bar is offered in a black Cerakote shaft with Duracoat® sleeves for a distinct, blacked out look. Duracoat® is a chemical process that hardens the outside of the steel, making it more wear resistant and adding a high degree of corrosion resistance. The sleeves are smooth for easy loading and unloading of the plates. And the 15.75” loadable sleeve length, longer than most other deadlift bars, means space for more weight plates on the bar. Bronze bushings are great for slower, strength-focused lifts and allow for consistent rotation, while ensuring incredible strength and stiffness to withstand heavy loads.

Grabbed this at HGC so it was a killer deal. My first deadlift bar and it handles pretty well though. Looks great. Cool name. I dig it.

My favorite bar, changed the way I deadlift. Was using an Ohio power bar before, this is the only deadlift bar I’ve used but makes the lift much more enjoyable. Great knurling, sounds great when it drops. Love lifting with it.

I love this bar. Great knurkling and priced very well also. I've never used a Texas or Ohio deadlift bar, but I imagine this is up there with those bars as well. Highly recommend. Update - After using a Texas Deadlift Bar, I can firmly say this bar comes second to a Texas Deadlift Bar. Still a great bar, but Texas is where its at!

Lots to like here but also some flaws that hold this back. First, this is a great price point for a deadlift bar and REP has done a great job with build quality. However, the knurling could be a bit more aggressive in my opinion. Also, the black sleeves are going to immediately show wear and tear. The first time you throw on plates, the pristine sleeves are going to get marred up. It's a good looking bar and I love the all black design, but it's not going to stay that way. The whip of this bar is spot on and it feels really good in-hand. For those looking for a super aggro bar, this may fall a little short. However, if you're looking to get a specialty deadlift bar just to get some reps in and get used to it for specific competition work you can't go wrong, especially for the price point. I've never used a Texas DL bar, so can't compare the two, but I think this is a good alternative.

Not the worst deadlift bar I have used. I’d still go Texas over this but it was cool to see rep finally upgraded Their barbell game after year of just having some very sub par bar. I’d still just spend a bit more for an American made bar. But I’d take this over Ohio deadlift bar.

Rep is coming out with really good bars for a good price now. I love their end caps too. This is a nice bar to have as it gives you a dedicated bar for deadlift so longer and smaller diameter.

I was surprised how much I liked this bar. I still prefer the texas over this, but this would be a fine deadlift bar for a comp or for a home gym. At the price I don’t know why you would not go texas. The end caps on their line of bars are super cool. It is such a small thing, but rep does great at the fun little details. The knurling is aggressive and the coating does not impact this. The whip is better than the ohio, but not quite as much as texas.
