As a powerlifter words can't even explain how much I hate these from being on vacation and trying to deadlift for reps with them πŸ˜…, other then looking like a stop sign and being terrible for deadlifts they are a soild legendary plate.

When I was in my true meathead phase in my mid twenties and didn't care about anything other than getting huge these were the plates that my gym had. I loved loading up any machine with these and going to town. Obviously not great for deadlift, but they are easy to grip and well built. I love the look and feel of them.

These are my daily drivers for squat and bench. The ergonomic feel is timeless and even when I am tired, I am not going to drop one of these on my foot. They are expensive retail, but can be found in the secondary markets for around $2/pound.

Very expensive, but a legacy look of made in USA plates. These are rough for anything from the floor due to the design, but still aesthetic plates.

Not awesome solid choice for deadlifting at all but doable for everything else. Nothing special about them at all except a convenient handle to grab them with. Also they held up well in this cool outdoor resort gym in Hawaii

Really nice plates for machines and general fitness stuff but like Keith mentioned they are absolutely terrible to deadlift with. Easy to grip but don't look nice on a bar IMO.

These things are built like a tank, but they're really annoying for deadlifting.

Solid plates for the home gym. Deadlifting with them is not ideal, but great for everything else. They're generally very pricey, even on the used market. The urethane holds up really well over time. I hardly ever see chunks of rubber missing on older plates. I prefer the iron grip plates not coated in urethane personally, as the patina seems to fit the old school gym vibe.

Very common plate to find in your big box commercial gyms. Horrible to deadlift with. Relatively easy to maneuver with the handle cut out. Used theses regularly at la fitness 2013-2106

You'll find these plates in 90% of commercial gyms. For the price they're definitely not worth it. Pain to deadlift with them. Not a bad option for machines if you can find them cheap used.
