Longhorn Camber Barbell

Longhorn Camber Barbell

The Longhorn Bar is a cambered barbell built for lifters who want to squat heavier, press deeper, and train pain-free. Its unique 3.75” drop lowers the weight distribution, increasing control while reducing strain on your shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Whether you're recovering from an injury, dealing with tight shoulders, or just want a more natural lifting position, this bar is designed to make your training smoother and more effective. On the bench, the camber allows for a greater range of motion, giving your chest and stabilizers an intense stretch that leads to serious strength gains.

LOVE this bar. Heavy at 55lbs but outside of using a SSB or Marrs bar to squat, this is as close to an actual straight bar low bar back squat as I can get. Great knurling, different than my other fringe bars, closest to the REP double black diamond. Really enjoy it for squatting.

Current favorite bar for bench. No issues with fit and finish. Camber adds a nice variation to highlight a deep range of motion and stretch while benching. Knurling is decent and not overly aggressive. 32mm shaft is comfortable. This is not a dedicated bench bar but if you are on the fence and looking to try something different, just do it. You won’t regret it.

It's a good dupe of the Duffalo. Considering mine is one of the original made in USA Longhorn bars, its a nice to have in the gym. The passive knurling keep this from being my go-to squat bar, but I do enjoy it when I wanna give my shoulders a break and for OHP.

This bar is solid overall. The camber is good and the sleeves are nice and smooth. Minus one star for build quality as the knurling isn’t the best. It’s pretty passive and could use more bite.

I picked this up from a local crü member for a great price to try out. I use it on a squat variation day and it feels good on the back and shoulders. I don’t really have any complaints on the bar itself, other than it’s a bit of a pain without a dedicated camber j cup.

There are so many different versions of this bar, and have been in the past, that it's hard to really pinpoint a review on it. The version I have is the import version, and was made about 2 years ago. I got it for very cheap ($180 or so including tax), so my value judgement is more based on the current price of camber bars they offer. The version I have is fine. It looks like the cheaper, super shiny chrome plating, but it's supposedly stainless steel. I haven't had any issues with it flaking, it's just a different stainless steel look than I've ever seen. Performance wise, my only issue is the camber angle. It's funny because as far as how it feels lifting, it's probably better, but the sharper angle makes it a pain to load weights onto. I even have the duffalo block inserts with the Rogue version of the ghost J cups, and it still gives me a heart attack every time when loading the first couple plates on each side as it will slide over to the other side of the rack. I tried it with normal j cups a couple of times too, and it flipped on my with just a 45 on one side, hence my investment in the duffalo blocks. The angle being more steep though doesn't give it full contact with the duffalot block. That in combination with me having a Rep rack instead of Rogue, the angles aren't perfect enough for my piece of mind to use this bar all that much. I did end up finding a hack solution of sorts so the bar can't slide as far over, but it still feels like it's going to flip. It's not worth the potential damage to my car parked right next to my gym. Some of this I think is inherent with all duffalo bars, unless you have a very specific rack, rack width j cup style setup. It still feels great to lift with, but pre-lift, weight loading and unloading can be "stressful".

I owned the original USA version of this 2019-2020. That was a great budget Buffalo bar. Bends felt good and was safe in the rack. Fringe switched to a China made bar for a while I heard was subpar and then again back to the USA but I can only speak fly the OG one and it was great and I would have used it forever of a Duffalo bar hadn’t fallen on my lap.

Definitely a decent Buffalo style camber bar. Knurl feels grippy but not crazy aggressive. The coating has held up well over the 4 years or so of ownership. This bar serves its purpose. It’s not as high of quality as the Kabuki Duffalo bar or even the Rogue version but it gets the job done.
