Old School Iron Plates

REP’s Old School Iron Plates feature a classic, one-sided design with a deep lip for easy maneuverability and a secure grip. These iron weight plates are incredibly durable; they are cast and coated with a high-quality, matte finish. The Old School plates are perfect for strength training and powerlifting and are the most cost-efficient way to build out your home gym. They are sold in pairs (2.5, 5, 10, 25, 35, and 45lbs), as well as six different sets (from 175 to 425lbs). The 52mm center hole fits all Olympic barbells. Old school iron. There isn't much to distinguish these from any other metal plates out there--in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they were generic plates packaged and resold by Rep. Generally speaking, if you are in the market for standard weight plates, shop around for the best price or purchase them second hand when possible.

They have a classic look and a good grip, but the weight accuracy is inconsistent, often swinging a few pounds off. The finish chips easily during heavy use, and they rattle on the bar due to a loose fit. They're decent if you're on a budget, but don't expect precision quality.

These standard plates aren't any different than most other brands. Quick and cheap casting to get the price down, but that typically comes at the sacrifice of casting quality and weigh tolerance.

Generic, uncalibrated weight plates that range between 43 to 48lbs typically

Weight is weight - if you live by that phrase, these plates are great. Recommend getting them off FBMP as you can get them there for much cheaper than pretty much any retail outlet on the internet.

They’re perfectly average and they are exactly what you think they are. It’s a cheap, no frills option that will last a long time

Basic weight plates, have had them for years in a garage gym and most of them still looked new. A few are slightly rusty but no more than would be expected. Would still recommend buying any weights used over new.

Paint scrapes off easily, and they don't fit super tight to the bar, so they rattle quite a bit, but they are heavy circles that make me slightly stronger every time I pick them up

Weight is weight. Not the cheapest plates, and haven’t checked mine for accuracy. I needed some more plates and was ordering something else from Rep anyway. Have 45s and 25s. Some coating chipping on the 25s from frequent use on the log.
