PR-4000 Rack

I’ve had some iteration of the PR-4000 since 2020 and it replaced the Amazon rack I had started with in 2019 when I started my gym. They’ve made a couple of big improvements over the first rack I bought from them - namely the weight stack on the lat pull down and the Ares and Athena systems they’ve created over the years. I’m very happy with the colorways and the ability to use all four sides of the rack - something not offered by other manufacturers.

Have had this since 2021. Love it and has stood the test of time in the humid weather of Florida. I started with 90” 4 post cages, then upgraded to a 6 post and dropped an ARES 1.0 into it.

Very good rack. 80 inch height. Got 80 inches because it is cheaper and due to size constraints in my garage. Height does not bother me. Only downside is not being able to OHP inside the rack, but doing it outside the rack does not bother me. Pull-ups are also less ideal on a shorter rack since you have to bend your legs. I much prefer pull-ups on a taller pull up bar where I can keep my legs straight. Started off with no front foot extensions, and no rear base stabilizer. I never mounted down and it was fine. Movement did happen, but not to the point of concern for safety. I now have a lat/low row extension on the back with a rear base stabilizer which significantly decreases the amount of movement with the rack not being bolted down. Overall, the rack has held up well, with minimal signs of wear and/or rust over the last 4-ish years I have had it in a garage with a very dynamic climate. Would recommend.

Love my PR-4000! I bought it secondhand from Facebook Marketplace for a great price so I put 5 stars for value but I'm sure if I were to buy it new, I'd still give it the same score! It does well with what I need it to do. 3x3 rack helps with rack attachments but limited with the 5/8" holes. The safety straps and the safety bars are great options depending on what you want to do with them. Recently added on the Dialed Motion Ibex x2 with Lat Arm attachment for lat pulldowns. Overall, the rack does well for what I use it for.

Big fan of my PR 4000! This was the first purchase for my home gym and I've used it for almost every gym session the last two years. I purchased the 80" version (82" ceilings), 6 post and 41" rack depth. For a while, I regret not getting a shorter depth for more space efficiency, but since adding the REP smith attachment, I've found the extra space to have allowed me to still use my spotter arms inside the rack for my front uprights, while still leaving room to install my smith and use it comfortably towards the back. Given the option, I would opt to get a PR 5000, only due to the greater number of attachments that are available for 1 inch. Thankfully is hasn't been an issue from rep, as the vast majority of their ecosystem is in both 5/8 and 1 inch, but if you plan to venture to outside companies, this could be an issue for you. While, the closer hole spacing at bench height is nice, I haven't heard of many people complaining about the spacing for standard spacing on 1" racks. Given the relatively minor price difference between the 5000 series and 4000 series, the cost savings don't really seem worth the limitations imposed, especially for what will be the center piece in most home gyms. No problems with build quality, finish, or durability, all have been great!

I love my PR-4000. It is built like a tank, highly customizable, and fits my Athena perfectly. If I could go back in time I probably would opt for the 5000 instead. I love the Westside spacing but Rep seems to have a higher focus on their 1" ecosystem rather than the 5/8". Plus, more non-Rep attachments fit the 1" holes. That said, this thing would survive a nuclear blast. If you're not always looking for the most random rack attachments, and Westside spacing matters to you, this is a no-brainer.

The finish options are great, I have mine built as a 4 post but use it primarily as a half rack.

Awesome rack, had it for many years with an Ares and loved it. High quality for less than Rogue prices and much faster and free shipping. Replaced with a Paramount smith machine, and Magnum 5 Stack Jungle Gym as I have moved away from powerlifting but this was the hardest piece for me to sell because it I had so much use out of it and the Ares and really loved it while I had it.

Bought used on FBM for $250 and it’s was easily the best gym upgrade. This thing is solid and it’s my space perfectly. Will never have to upgrade again but may convert to 6 post at some point.
