REP® Crash Pads

REP® Crash Pads

Reduce the noise and vibration of barbell drops with REP’s Crash Pads. These pads are made from high-density foam and feature exhaust vents on all four outer sides to absorb the noise and impact, so you can lift early in the morning or late at night without disturbing others. Plus, Crash Pads protect your floors, the barbell, and your plates. The pads also have convenient, nylon carry handles that make it easy to move and lift them around your gym. Although they're tough, they only weigh 26.5lbs per pad. Crash Pads are covered in durable black vinyl. The pads are finished with a white REP logo for a sharp contract and attractive aesthetic. They are 29.5” (L) x 22.5” (W) and 5” thick. Crash Pads are sold in pairs.

Picked up a pair on FMP and they looked brand new. First time using crash pads and have been really impressed. My most common use is FRS and OHS outside the rack as part of a workout. They are dead silent. There is a little bit of a bounce, but even from overhead I have not yet had it bounce off. Seem to be holding up really well. They are actually heavier than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise.

These things are really well built and are great for dampening deadlifts and dropping heavy sandbags, but they're just too solid for dropping anything overhead. I can stand on one and barely feel any give, but they've taken plenty of abuse and still look great. The price point is fair for the quality, but the lack of give makes it hard to love them.

I'm kind of torn on these. I think the build quality is great. I own Titan, Bells, and Abmat crash pads. I think these are the best made of the bunch. I also think the price is pretty fair. The one performance issue I have is how "stiff" they are, which is only an issue depending on what your use case is. I don't like them for dropping overhead implements. They are very stiff and it doesn't absorb the bounce very well. But if you were using them for something like deadlift silencers, they would be great.
