REP® Open Trap Bar

REP® Open Trap Bar

Add variety to your training with the REP Open Trap Bar. It’s designed to place the weight directly in line with your center of gravity instead of in front like a traditional barbell. Its neutral handle placement makes deadlifting much less technique intensive, while its open design allows for a versatile range of movements like squats, lunges, and presses. The bar features an integrated deadlift jack that makes loading and unloading the bar easier, featuring plastic liners on the feet to protect your floors. The jack also acts as a counterweight to keep the bar beautifully balanced. Weighing in at 58.4lbs (not including the handles), the bar features a round tube frame which makes it comfortable to use as a cambered bar for both pressing and squatting. The frame features a 6” section of medium-light knurling to add grip when squatting. The textured matte black powder coat is not only sleek, but also provides an added level of grip. The REP Open Trap Bar features fully knurled, stainless-steel handles, except the Rotating Handles, which are steel with a hard-chrome finish. All patent-pending handles are not only removable, but also removable quickly. Choose the handles that will give you the best width inside the bar: Narrow (23”), Standard (25”), Wide (27.3”), Rotating (24.6"), or get multiple handles to switch up lifting angles and add versatility to your training. All the handles feature a 28mm diameter, while the rotating handles also feature a 38mm and 48mm handle. The bar's sleeves are plated with hard chrome, a durable premium coating that stands up against sliding plates on and off. The bar is also rackable. Even on wide, 49” racks, the bar will sit flush and secure. Leg day is coming! Are you ready?

One of the most versatile pieces of hardware I own. Rackable, so it drops straight onto J-hooks for trap bar shrugs. Doubles as a loaded-carry implement for heavy farmer's walks. Sleeves are more than long enough — I've loaded it well into the 500 lb range for open trap bar deadlifts with room to spare. The one real complaint is the "quick release" handles. To get them rigid you have to torque the Allen bolt down properly, and the knurled knob on that bolt is effectively decorative — nobody is generating the necessary torque by hand, and nobody is loosening it by hand either. So the "quick release" isn't quick, and mine have been permanently installed as a result. I'd like to pull them for camber squats and other variations, but not enough to break out tools every time. REP should either commit to a genuine tool-free clamp or drop the knurled knob and stop implying it.

By far the best open trap bar on the market. Great design, heavy and good for supplemental squat training

For the money this is the best bar to get with a multitude of options. Unlike other brs this is balanced and you can even set it up for camber squats (I have not done so). The sleeves are WAAAAAAAAAAY too long for my 1 car garage home gym (I had to get them cut down). It would be nice if they had a non-rackable option. Like some other pieces, custom powder coated this locally. Also a bit difficult to store

Best open trap bar I have used. The overall quality is outstanding. I went with the standard handle with the diamond knurling. With this setup the bar comes in at just over 74 lbs. It can be a bit unyielding when moving. Also make sure you plan ahead on how you are going to store the bar, something I did not give enough consideration.

The Rep Trap bar with rotating handles is well balanced and super stable. The built-in floor jacks makes loading and unloading easy. I was on the fence about the rotating handles, but so happy I got them. The larger diameter handles are great for farmers carry and I find the rotation itself helps me set just the right angle when I stand up reps. It is an absolute beast of bar in size and weight, so be prepared for that.

One of my favorite pieces. Could’ve gotten a much cheaper trap bar but this piece gets a ton of use and its super convenient to use and change/load plates. There were several different options for grips, i went with the narrow option based off of other reviews i saw. I definitely recommend the narrow, it doesnt feel narrow it feels perfect. I think the normal grip would be too wide. I’m 6’2, 190lbs

I use this for deadlifts and squats. I see a lot of reviews mentioning they don’t use the bar for squats…I’m not sure why. I have bad shoulder mobility so it helps with that. It racks easily. The thickness and knurling feels good. I have no problem fitting with the handles left on (6”1 and 225 pounds). I guess it is heavier than a standard bar, but we are lifting weights.

Great bar and love its versatility. I have the rotating handles and although they are great for the different grips, I find my hands shaking when I drop the bar down. Not sure if this is intended or if it only happens with my bar, but I do wish I opted for a fixed handle width. Otherwise, great bar!

Love mine. Easy to load weight. Knurling is grippy and lot of loadable length on weight horns. Sturdy and heavy duty.
