The way I’ve seen it done is someone tying a piece of heavy twine through a weight plate and then putting it in the mold with the twine running out the pour hole. They then set the mold in a 5 gallon bucket they cut in half so it’s not as tall to use as a base to keep it steady as the concrete cures. They then put a saw horse on each side of the bucket and run a 2x4 between them and tie the twine around the 2x4 so that the weight plate is hanging in the center of the mold. Then they fill the mold with concrete and let it cure. When it’s done they cut the twine as close to the edge of the concrete as possible. So it came in handy...

These are great for getting the most out of a single atlas stone. I tried cheaping out and using random styrofoam pieces which was more hassle than its worth. Get the really thing!

Kind of a pain to get this in place where you need it before putting concrete in but it does work out extremely well !! Might be hard to see but I rigged something up to keep the tension on the strings
