Local YMCA has it and when I know how long it’s been in use, and the stupidity I’ve personally seen on it - I just have to appreciate the real value of the piece. It’s just an old iron workhorse. No bells and whistles. No BS. If you happen to find someone unloading one swoop in and take it off their hands. They are easy to work on and will handle pretty much anything thrown at them!

This is one of those examples of how old school stuff is just better. Plus completely vertical smith machines are almost always the way to go. Its smooth, simple, and works well

Love this smith machine. I picked this up on marketplace for $400. Paramount is always great quality and makes good looking, solid machines.
This specific OG model is harder to come by but if you can get one it’s great. Very slight angle to the bar path. Counterweights are nice and smooth. A bit heavy to move, but I disassembled it and removed the counterweights and got it down to my basement fairly easy. Assembly is pretty simple only issue is getting the counterweights back in the tight plates but even that was pretty easy.
For $400 this beats the heck out of any home gym smith machine and is replacing my Rep with Ares Squat rack which I recently sold.
