Stainless Steel IPF Power Lifting Chewy Bar

Compared to bars of similarly high build quality the price isn't bad at all (Uesaka, Eleiko, etc). Functionally, the price probably isn't justifiable for many people compared to Rogue or others. The details on it are nice, the knurl rings are crisp. It's a great daily bar that won't tear your hands up no matter how many sets and reps you're doing.

This is a pretty amazing barbell. The price is wicked, but it’s probably worth it. I got mine during the first run - it was offered through the Home Gym Discord a few years back, before the IPF money got spent. The knurling is really aggressive, but not sharp exactly. And the quality is by far better than any barbell I’ve ever used. American Barbell just has the slickest looking sleeves and there is zero play in the sleeve. Sick barbell.

I have a number of choices and I find myself going back to this bar over and over again for benching. I like the smooth sleeves which are quieter for loading weights. I like the knurl. It just feels good to me. The bearings in the sleeves are top notch. The bar is a work of craftsmanship. I think it’s worth what I paid for it.

I have used this at a friends gym.the knurling is nicer than my OPB It is a great bar no complaints but it is pricey.

Fantastic barbell to use as a daily driver. Great knurling but not too sharp for squat or bench. There are probably a dozen (or more) power bars that I'd rank ahead of this from a value standpoint but if you can catch it on sale it is one to consider.

This bar is something else. Such a good feel in the hand. The price tag is up there, but when compared to other bars with this good of finish, it is a bargain. I still stand by the ohio power bar for the cost, but this is a great choice as well and is just down to personal preference. Though they can be a pain, I am more of a fan of the thin collars on the sleeves and these are more traditional. For many that will be a positive though for function out of the rack.

One and done: The quintessential daily driver power bar.

Probably the nicest barbell I own. I have the homegymcord discord one with 20 TPI and Mountain Knurl, I was told there were less than 80 of those made, not sure how true that is. The knurl is very aggressive and the bar is extremely quiet in use. I got an insane deal on FMBP on this and got it for $400, however I drove 2 hours in the wrong direction because I got the address wrong so it took me like 6 hours to get this bar when they were only maybe 45 minutes from my house...gosh I am an idiot.

Certainly the nicest piece of equipment in my entire gym. Very high quality fit and finish: the bar thuds instead of rattles when dropped. The knurling terminations are very precise and my Home Gym Discord run of knurling is extremely grippy without being too sharp. The stainless finish is flawless. If you want the best of the best, this might be that barbell. But like most high quality items, this is a case of diminishing returns.

American Barbell makes some of the highest quality barbells in the world. Their attention to detail and build quality is second to none. Their big knock has always been passive knurling, but the Chewy looks to rectify that. You'll find there are several versions of this bar out there. These versions relate to the knurled density (TPI) and shape. The normal retail version tends to be a 20 TPI volcano knurl, which is very good, but it's not Texas Power Bar aggressive. There was a small run of 20 TPI Mountain which has a lot more bite. Lastly there is a 25 TPI Volcano which was a Home Gym Discord special. It was similar to the legendary Kabuki Power Bar knurl, but much better build quality. Great bar overall, but the high price tag is a huge turn off.
