Technique Plates

Technique Plates

Constructed from a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, Rogue Technique Plates have the same 450mm outside diameter as standard full-size Olympic bumper plates, but in a much lighter, more manageable weight range: 2.5 & 5 KG, 5 LB & 10 LB. This enables beginner or rehabbing athletes to practice their starting movements from the proper height off the ground (whether it be clean, snatch, or even deadlift) before transitioning to actual bumpers. Rogue Technique Plates are sold in pairs and make a great complement to our line of exclusive Technique and Junior Barbells. They’re also easy for anyone to load/unload due to their light weight and a grip-friendly raised lip.

These 5lb and 10lb training plates, paired up with a 5kg aluminum technique bar, are very helpful tool for warmup, and as the name implies - technique development. These are made well and continue to take a beating on the floor without cracking. These are twice as expensive as REP, Fringe or Titan’s versions. But I am a Rogue fanboy and went this route for both the 5lb and 10lb. I use these for every Olympic lifting session, I find that they allow for a nice warmup and really open me up (back, shoulders).

These are made of a hard plastic. For fundamentals of Olympic lifting, for people young, rehabing an injury, or those with significant limitations these can be a great tool to get into the typical position with the bar on the floor. They are light enough that you really will only be working with the bar. Paired with a lighter weight bar and then you have equipment that can be adapted to any level. For most people I don’t see much need in these. They are thick and will take up as much space as a 25kg bumper plate. I do see their use, but almost seems more like a physical therapy tool.
