52.5 inches between the inner collars. 15 inch smooth loadable sleeve. I picked mine up for a song when purchasing a bunch of other vintage York weights. I really like it as an historical piece but I never lift with it. The knurling is so passive that you can't tell where it ends and the smooth center section begins.

I have to say my 80s split sleeve York power bar is my current favorite bar. I do wish the knurling was a sharper. I was lucky to find one in the wild near perfect condition.

Vintage York Power Bar.
The 29 split sleeve York power bar with center knurling is much more rare than the very common 28 mm no center knurling bar.
It took me years to financial acquire in a trade. I was thrilled to finally check that off the vintage bucket list but overall disappointed with the bar. It’s knurling on mine specifically is so dull the bar is damn near useless. Still a cool feather in the hat but just not a great bar.

These classic bars are a great value. Often available for around $100 and offering decent specs, they give you that old school iron feel without paying the vintage premium. Knurl on these ranges from decent to passive, but a nice addition to any collection.
