Major Grant Broggi is a Marine Officer, owner of The Strength Co., Starting Strength Coach, and member of the Starting Strength Seminar staff. He began barbell training in Military College to get stronger and prevent injury. In 2025, Grant was activated from the Select Marine Corps Reserve and deployed overseas. Now back from deployment, he has resumed leading The Strength Co., supported by his experienced coaching team and its ongoing mission to help people get strong and provide quality American-made strength equipment.

I’ve got two of these in my gym, super useful training bar for women, particularly on the press and deadlift. Not a fan of bare steel for commercial use, bar requires maintenance and new lifters u familiar think that it’s “rusted”.

Have had this deadlift jack in my gym for 9 years now! Used daily by dozens of lifters, holds up very well except for the UHMW inserts, about every two years they fall out and I have to cut and replace them.

I was given mine as a plaque with my name on it and use it as the back drop for my YouTube videos. Love it! I also had one in my gym but switched to vertical storage for space saving.

There was a time when I owned eight of these, plus a gold one. It harkens back to the good old days, before magnets and gadgets—just real spotting for your beverages during heavy squats. WYTBAPFC
