A hot tub is a great recovery tool, especially in the winter. The max heat (at least in Canada is 106F) which can get a good sweat going if you're trying to get a sauna type recovery. I use 104 in the winter and drop to 102 in the summer. Never buy a hot tub at full price, they are pretty much scams. Wait until the end of the model year or one of the many tent sales they have in the summer, I got mine for 8000 off the sticker price. Ensure the tub comes with at least a two year warranty because leaks will start after the first winter when everything around it freezes and constricts. The more pumps in the hot tub the more jets you can have, the 579 has distinct jets in each seat for a different type of massage. I can't really feel the difference but other people think they can tell. Caring for a tub isn't that hard if you do your test at the weekly and month requirements. Switching to a salt water tub and a chlorine generating electrode really cuts down on the time spent tuning the water chemistry, although a bit of an investment at the off set. These may or may not be legal in your province or state due to people giving themselves bromine sickness in the past. It appears that the ‘water chiller’ bin has been removed in the past two years, that’s a shame because it really kept the beers cold.

Is it over priced? Oh ya. Was the prototype a set of Hi-Lo inline wheels, hinges and some 2x4s? Most likely. Is it the greatest roller of all time? Probably. I learned about this from my marathon running friend after he learned about it from his triathlete ex. It's easily the best roller I've ever used, the adjustable tension makes choosing your level of suffering easy. It's over built so it should last a while.

Two runs of these plates were made in the 1970s at the McCoy foundry in Troy, Ontario. Whipper Watson is widely recognized as the #1 Canadian Professional wrestler of all time. The plates are rare, but more of a curiosity than collectable, that being said they aren't worth much in the vintage plate community. They're your average 70s 1" plate, just neat to have in the city where he won the first professional wresting championship broadcast in colour. They're also popular in Texas for some reason that I don't know. The branded dumbbell grips (most uncomfortable things ever) are the hardest of the set to find, despite many people saying there are fewer 1.5lb plates

Great for unilateral movements like step ups or pistol squats on the larger ones. They’re great when you want a height that’s shorter than a plyo box. Also much more stable feeling underfoot than a foam plyo. The heights also make sure people don’t do step ups using your bench and get it all dirty.

It’s a good value for the price, $300 CAD shipped. The knurling is the exact same as the knurling on the BOS power bars. I was expecting something a little sharper for a deadlift bar but everything still works fine. The sleeves are ribbed, some people like that some people don’t. I personally have no opinion on that. I’ve had it for a week and other people have also tried it and enjoyed it. It’s bare steel so it will require some maintenance to keep the rusties away. One month update: I don’t like the ribbed sleeves. It’s real annoying to pull all the plates off at the end of the day, it would be nicer if they slid off smoothly
