Boneyard Bar

There are great deals in the boneyard and I've bought a DL, OPB, Bella, and Stump from there and all have come flawless. I also paid really good prices on them. DL was zinc and I paid $195, SS OPB - $225, Pink Cerakote Bella for wife - $225, and Stump is SS $250. My only hesitation to give boneyards 4 stars is that sometimes the prices aren't great and sometimes the bars come messed and there's nothing you can do about it. I've seen it happen numerous times. So for new people, just know its always a risk buying from the boneyard but statistically most of the bars are brand new.

I've had boneyard Bella, Ohio, curl, and power bars. Maybe more. I've had good luck and mostly couldn't tell they were factory seconds. Great choice for a first bar.

It’s no Texas or York bar but it’s a great bar. Got mine with little to no issues that I could see and have had it a year. First real premium bar I bought. Knurling is passive but I think that’s good on Olympic bars. I use mine for RDL,OHP, and Deadlift a lot since I don’t have a deadlift bar. Planning to move on from it soon but for the quality and value it’s a great bar for CrossFit or Olympic lifting. Not nearly as versatile as a power bar but still a great tool to have.

This is definitely a 5 star review, for all of the different Boneyard bars I've had over time from Rogue. Currently, I have a blue/black cerakote Toomey seconds for my wife. She's a UM grad, so a blue barbell is a must for her. The 25mm diameter is great for her hands and the passive knurl is what she prefers in a barbell. It wouldn't be my favorite bar, but it is hers and makes her happy. Throw some yellow clamps on them and shes in Michigan heaven. I also owned a Boneyard Ohio bar, a CB-4, some dumbbells, and a deadlift bar. In all cases, I was unable to find anyting amiss - no double track knurling, no physical blemishes, miscoatings, whatever. All of the bars were in excellent condition shipped, no rust or any damage to the sleeves or shaft. Yes, you're giving up the warranty of the thing, but when the seconds come out better than many importers' firsts, I'd glady take my chances with a Rogue BY bar if wanting to save money and get a quality barbell that I'd trust. Just stay away from ecoat. It's disgusting on their barbells.

I got my Rogue Ohio Bonyard Bar before the prices on boneyard bars went into the 200’s, however, you can still find a good value and save some money. My bar appears to be a bare steel Ohio bar with black cerakote coated sleeves. I even wonders for a while if it might be stainless as it still doesn’t have rust on it and it’s in a garage without AC or heat outside of a space heater in the Midwest. However, I was told if you take off the sleeves, there should be an S stamped on the end. I have no S on either side. When I got my bar I could hardly find any imperfection, I had to hunt for it and I found a couple little imperfection on the finish of the coating on the sleeves, which over time you wouldn’t even be able to tell was there with use from sliding the plates on and off. As well as a little “ding” on the ribbing at the end of the sleeve. Again, would probably happen over time with use. None of which were even really noticeable unless I hunted for it! After using it for years, you wouldn’t have even known it was a boneyard bar if not for the end caps (which are cooler than the standard end caps in my opinion!)

I have a boneyard Westside bar and it has absolutely 0 issues. We have it on loan to another gym currently as we have a “prime” version we’ll, but literally no differences seen that led us to clearly seeing why it was a boneyard bar.

I have two Boneyard Bars from Rogue. One is an orange cerakote Ohio Bar and a Stainless Steel Hybrid Power Bar. Both I purchased at the Rogue retail store in Columbus, OH. I use the power bar for my main lifts and the Ohio bar for accessory lifts. The aggressive knurling is great for SBD but it will tear up your lifting straps. Great quality bars if you don’t mind them having imperfections on the aesthetics.

I have a 28.5 zinc/chrome boneyard. Snagged from marketplace but would easily buy again new from Rogue. Great bar great price (even new) Its my back up but gets used by vistiors to my garage gym weekly. Get one if you need an do anything bar

These things are great if they have what you're looking for. You get a very high quality barbell, usually without being able to tell why it's in the boneyard, for a fraction of the normal MSRP.

I have two of these and I still have no idea why they were in the boneyard. The only negative is the “end cap of shame.” lol
