Concept2 SkiErg

Concept2 SkiErg

The Concept2 SkiErg is an American-made, precision engineered Nordic skiing machine from the makers of the industry’s most trusted indoor rowers. Adapting key rowing machine elements like flywheel resistance and a state-of-the-art PM5 Performance Monitor, the SkiErg turns the athlete’s orientation vertical, simulating the movements of real cross-country skiing with both double-pole and classic alternating arm technique. These movements offer one of the most challenging strength and endurance tests available in a fitness machine, targeting the legs, arms, and core for a full body workout adaptable to any athlete’s size and skill level.

Great build The Concept2 SkiErg is one of the best bits of conditioning kit you can add to a home gym. It delivers serious performance — whether you’re doing steady aerobic work or brutal intervals — and the resistance always feels smooth and honest. Build quality is rock solid, exactly what you’d expect from Concept2, and it’ll take years of abuse without issue. It’s compact, low maintenance, and represents outstanding value for money if you’re serious about your training.

Love the ski erg. Same build quality and smooth performance as the C2 rower and bike erg. I’ve mainly used it with the foot plate and it’s good - stable and easy to move around. If I were only getting one piece of cardio equipment though this wouldn’t be my first choice.

This really helped me recover from a serious neck injury a few years ago. Typical C2 quality and hardly takes up any space. It’s just really boring to use for long periods of time. I sold it to free up funds. It wasn’t getting any regular use from me and my family ignored it too.

Skipping cardio is a past-time for me, but I had to play with this at a local CrossFit box and it was a butt kicker. Was seemingly fun to play with, but would take some getting used to for a long run.

The ski erg complements the row erg well. It is a great cardiovascular stimulus utilizing the anterior rather than the posterior change. I typically use it for CrossFit (interval) style training. I chose to get it with a base so that I would have a little more flexibility on where to put it in the gym.

My son would probably like this ski erg better, but I'm leaning towards the rower based on the reviews I have read so far. Will see what happens in the end.

I’m closing in on 4 million meters on the skierg. It’s great piece of cardio equipment. I can’t think of too many cardio machines that are mostly upper body. I thi that regularly doing the skierg had been good for my shoulder health. I always use it prior to a push workout. It works equally well for HIT workouts, LISS, or just as a warm up.

I really love this piece of cardio. It, along with the RowErg, are the kings of “fun” cardio in my opinion. It’s also nice that it doesn’t take up a lot of space. Mine is bolted to the wall and is very secure!
