Deep Dish Plates - Arnold Edition

I love my Rogue Deep Dish 45s. I have 4 pairs of them including my 1 pair of the Arnold edition. These plates work great for everything you could imagine. Squat, bench, deadlift, grip training, etc. Hub lifting can be harder on these with the Arnold cast. I have not yet found anything I dont like using them for. Anyone who has an issue with their depth neither needs to read more or understand what deep dish means. They are deep plates whether you like it or not. They are made to look like the old school deep dish Yorks, Jacksons, etc. They look and work how they are supposed to. I love the deep dish look. If you need skinny plates dont get these. If you dont care, then get them. They are definitely expensive and getting even more expensive on the used market. These are hyped up because of the Arnold cast which is kind of cool. Im happy with them either way as plates whether they are aarnold or not.

These plates are more novelty than collector piece, and they are certainly not a practical necessity, but they are fun and have a ton of character. I paid a premium since they are no longer in production, and yes, I probably overpaid — call it a guilty pleasure. I plan to either media blast them or use paint pen accents to bring out more of the detail, but either way they are a cool addition to the gym.

100% bought these because of the unique Arnold design (which was very well-done). These plates look awesome. But I never use them because of the collectability aspect. So not a very practical choice on my part.

My old gym had them on display. They're just Rogue deep dish plates with Arnold's logo on it. Im sure they'll be very valuable to the vintage plate collectors 50 years from now

Look great, more of a novelty at the price point, same plate as the rogue deep dish just with Arnold on it.

Because of a weird circumstance I actually have 3 of these plates. 1.5 pairs. They are iconic because of Arnold of course. I don't think you can buy them new currently. Fairly expensive for plates, but you're paying for the cool look. Practically speaking I don't actually like deep dish plates quite as well as others (The Strength Co for example). But these aren't really built for practicality.

these are of course iconic because of the image of Arnold and will likely be collectors items someday far in the future. For current every day use, they fall short of expectations. They lack the same cachet as a York deep dish or other more vintage deep dish iron, and just don't clang with the sound of history when pushed together. If you're shopping for them on the secondary market, most that I've seen are currently overpriced. As far as build quality, the rim feels kind of thin and I worry about chipping in the long run if a plate were dropped. The same goes for the hub and I most definitely would never do dead lifts with these plates. The finish is rather slick, so even hub lifting isn't that great with these. After using them a few times for bench press, mine have now largely been relegated to wall hangers.

I just love the look of these things. They clang just right when you’ve got them on the bar for deadlifts. I don’t like the ecoat Rogue puts on their plates because the back of the plates are so easily scratched up. I’m glad I got a few pairs when I did since they discontinued them so quickly.
