Ghost Roller J-Cup
We have partnered with the team at Ghost Strong to develop this exclusive Rogue-manufactured version of the Return Roller J-Cup 2.0. Our design keeps all the key features of Tim Grissel’s innovative original, including the patented conical rollers and multi-radius concave receiver that ensure each barbell returns to the front of the J-cup in an optimal position for the next lift. The only changes involve practical production upgrades in two different formats: Standard and Premium.

These were my go-to J Cups when I had my Monster Lite rack a couple years ago. They are pretty solid overall. If I had to nitpick, I’d say they might slide the bar a little too easily which only is annoying when loading and unloading weights. Also, any bar with decent knurling will wear down the angled rollers quicker than you’d want. They aren’t cheap so the cost of replacing the rollers have to be factored in. I would probably just stick to sandwich J Cups unless you want to opt for Bremmy ones, which are worth it

Good overall, I have the stainless steel pins and composite rollers. Even with the great build quality they are seriously overpriced, especially once you upgraded to the stainless steel pins. I bought them used for $250, which is about what the value should be. I used this on my Monster Squat rack and it's so tight to adjust when removing and repositioning. Annoyingly tight.

Have had these many years, bought them back when Ghost was still around (when we used to be a proper country). They are built well and the return roller functionality all works just like you would expect. I've never preferred these though personally. For whatever reason I just like sandwich J cups better for squats. If I was benching out of the rack more often maybe I'd prefer these.

These are the only roller J-cups I’ve owned, though I have several fixed J-cups for comparison.
I think they’re extremely nice and well built. The quality is solid and they feel premium. That said, I’m not entirely sure about all the hype and popularity surrounding them — I can’t imagine there’s a huge difference between these and other high-end roller J-cups.
In my experience, the left and right movement is smooth and easy, but the bevel that’s supposed to help the bar roll into the cup is hit or miss. A little more angle on the bevel would keep the bar from sitting on the edge. It’s not a big deal, but it’s something I noticed.
Overall, I’m happy with them and they work well in my setup.

Am I the only one who doesn't always like the bar in the front of the j hook to start for every exercise? It can get annoying that the bar only wants to stay in the front of the j cup because of the tapered cone design. I understand this is supposed to be a feature of the j hook but I do not prefer it . Build quality is great but so is everything by ghost

Got the version with the plastic roller. The rollers have been quite chewed through and definitely need replacement after about 3 years, since the rolling function doesn't really work anymore. Love them for squats hate them for bench. They look also pretty good.

Got these when they were 1st released and paid a ton for them. Pretty sure the Rogue versions are better built and certainly abit cheaper. I ha e the metal rollers and yes they damage the knurling but obviously not where your gripping the bar...durability doesn't seem to be an issue as these are a out 6 years old and minus some chips from reracking the bar they look new.

These were my first roller (and first j cup on 3x3 rack). After getting used to the roller and return feature, I grew to like it that when I got a sandwich j cup later I had to readjust my setup (and brain) again that I end up missing the features.
Despite the usefulness of the roller and return for squats and bench, the tolerance is terrible. When loaded, one will angle further out than the other which doesn’t effect anything but is annoying because of the cost. Additionally these wear down like crazy with my OPB (or anything else with knurl) and will need to be replaced at $50 plus more over time making it a terrible value compared to a sandwich jcup that does show wear but not to the level where I’m thinking about replacement.
Overall, cool product but quality and value don’t justify the features.

I purchased these J cups and the inserts for the Rogue CB4 bar. When the bar is empty, it will sometimes stick in one side or the other, but that’s never a problem with weight on it. The bar racks securely and easily after each set. There is a lot of room above the cup to protect your rack against the bar. It’s a very tall Jcup.

These things are freakin sick. Kinda expensive but rogue is already charging about $200 for their sandwich j cups so to upgrade to these for $305 made sense to me. I got the stainless pin & roller w/ the composite roller. They offer 3 types of black colors: textured, matte, & metallic. I got the matte and it honestly is hard do distinguish it from Rogue’s textured black, but it seems slightly finer. Rogue is also sending me out a shim kit so I can experiment with getting it to the optimum tightness on my rack.
