Original (Red) Sling Shot

Original (Red) Sling Shot

The Original Sling Shot will allow you to handle about a 10% overload in the bench press while avoiding the pain that comes along with pushing your body to the limit. It mimics natural muscle movement by lengthening and shortening with the muscles thus giving support on the eccentric and concentric phase of a bench press. This effect can greatly reduce stress on the shoulders, elbows, and chest.

I'll be honest...This has never had any effect on my bench press at all. For the money, I believe you're better off just getting a bench block. It does feel cool to pretend to be good at bench pressing though but it's not something that I ever really use.

There’s not much to say about the Slingshot that hasn’t been said, but this was such a beneficial tool for improving my bench press. It’s insanely durable, I’ve had mine for close to 10 years and use it regularly without issue. I’ve used it to bench above my one rep max, rep out heavy weight, and to do heavy static holds at the top of the bench press. I really can’t recommend this enough if you’re looking for tools to help improve your bench.

They're great for overloading your triceps on bench press and can be used for a few other exercises like pushups and dips. They last for a long time and are super easy to pack in a gym bag. They're also just fun to use if your training ever gets stale and you just want to horse, heft and heave some heavy loads.

This really helps keep your form in place when lifting relatively heavy (RPE 8+) and for me that means no tweaking my shoulders. Lasts forever too.

I have one and a knockoff that mostly take a spot on my band and belt bar. If you have no form and utilize no more than your delts to bench, it is a good tool. For the purposes of training young or inexperienced, this thing is good. Once you have a good grasp of where the bar feels comfortable, you won’t need it. I’ve never trained around an injury, so I can’t speak to that. I can see an inexperienced or immature person using this to convince themselves they can lift way more. Don’t let it be an ego lift tool. If you want to use it every now and then for accessories, that’s fine. I’m sure you’d be just as happy with a knockoff version.

I held off on getting one of these for the longest time. I had seen some guys bring them to commercial gyms in the past but never thought I had a need. Then it got programmed in my training so I decided to pick one up and WOW what a fun product. It really helps lift super-maximal loads and get comfortable feeling max loads in hand. Really an inexpensive and valuable tool to add to your arsenal. Would highly recommend. I'd give this a perfect score but there is some fraying that's already starting to develop at the shoulder point.

I was having some shoulder issues a few years back. I got a slingshot and it helped me alleviate my shoulder pain. I throw it in at the end of bench sessions once in a while.

This was my first MB slingshot. It works great, but I did ungrade to the full bore version because it is made for larger arms. If you're a big toughie, you might consider going full bore.
