I bought this initially when I was using the full Revolt pulley system so I could low row off my rack. I have upgraded fromt he pulley system, but saw no reason to remove the footplate from my rack, Every now and again I come across a movement where having a stable plate to pull against it useful.
The big pro here is that this is inexpensive. The downside is that there is some give in the manufacturing tolerances, the plates always have a bit of slop when pinned in. I don't think they're going to break at all, but it does feel a bit rickety.

I used this to add a foot plate for rows onto my Bells of Steel plate loaded cable tower. It's functional but definitely not high quality. The hinge and pin mechanism has enough slop that when it's locked open the pads sweep back a few degrees, and it's somewhat difficult to get the pin holes to line up.
