Ruck Plates

Ruck Plates

This a la carte line-up of GORUCK Ruck Plates® is intended specifically for use with The Rucker bodyweight training backpack (both 20L and 25L models). Available in 4 different weight increments (10LB, 20LB, 30LB, 45LB), the plates are precision-manufactured in the USA from quality, ductile iron ore, with convenient grab-and-go handles for easier handling and storage. A matte black powdercoat finish adds to the overall durability and rust resistance, and rounded ergonomic edges allow athletes to use the plates as separate weight training implements outside the rucksack.

It's a flat block of metal, I got a 45lb plate for my back pack and 30lb for my carrier. The glossy slick coating makes it incredibly easy to slip in and out of the pouch and fit is exact if you get the goruck it brand plates.strongly recommend vs the generic third party plates.

This is a must have with your GORUCK backpack. I have the 10, 20, 30 and 45 lb options at the moment.

The handle design actually makes it useful for more than just rucking if you want to get a little creative. That said, unless you’re doing a lot of ruck-focused training, it’s a bit hard to justify the value.

I have a 20lb GoRuck Ruck plate, and a 45lb Signature fitness ruck plate (much cheaper than the 45lb goruck plate). Even though the plate is inside the Ruck bag, and “weight is weight”. There are some quality differences that make me prefer the actual GoRuck ruck plate. It is a ductile iron plate so it’s a bit stronger and gives me better piece of mine in case of drops. It also has better fit and finish than the “off brand”, with smoother edges. The GoRuck has a better powder coat that is supposed to offer a better rust resistance. Plus it’s USA Made. So if those things matter. Also you know it’s designed to fit in the GoRuck bags in their plate pocket so you don’t have to question if your off brand plate will fit. I’m happy with the plate and would recommend it, just wish the GoRuck line of plates weren’t so expensive.

The weight is the perfect form factor to get as close to your body as possible, leading to less sway and strain on your back. They have handles allowing you to use them for various exercises. If you own any ruck product from GoRuck, you have to get these.

I learned the hard way that not all weights work in a go Ruck sack. After I got the proper weight, it made all the difference how the ruck felt on my back.

These are expensive and you can probably find a better value on Amazon or elsewhere with knockoffs as long as they fit your bag. They are well made and fit perfectly in a GoRuck.

These are the go to plates for rucking. You can use them for other things like plate holds and carries if you wanted to but their main purpose is to be in a ruck or plate carrier. Now you can find these from other brands but I personally prefer GoRuck!

The GR ruck plates are well built and have replaced the old DIY brick packs. They do provide handles for multiple uses, but really shine in a dedicated ruck pack/carrier.
