Steel Reaper Deadlift Bar

This is the only deadlift bar I have ever used, so I am mainly comparing to my experience using a Rogue multi purpose bar and a Rogue cerakote OPB. Those were my only bars for a long time, so when I got this I immediately noticed that it was significantly whippier and the knurling was way sharper. From reading other reviews, it seems like that might be inconsistent but for me doing higher rep sets with this bar can actually be painful. In a good way though, I have never felt like I was going to lose my grip because the bar was slipping. I am also inclined to like this bar because I got it brand new for around 200 bucks. Not sure if it was getting discontinued or what but I would recommend this bar, although maybe try to get your hands on it first since the quality does seem to vary based on what others have said.

I got this bar as a gift from Kurt from the Kurt Locker and it’s solid but Nothing special. It’s only slightly whippier than an Ohio Deadlift bar but significantly stiffer than a Texas DL bar. For the price of $350, I’d rather get a bare steel Ohio DL bar and know that Rogue’s customer service will take care of you. Or for another $50ish you can either get a black zinc Texas DL bar or a cerakote Ohio DL bar. If a coated DL bar is important to you, this is one of the cheaper options but again, I’d prefer a bare steel or zinc Texas bar over this any day, and it’ll only cost you about $50 more. Also, The end caps are just stickers.

I was tipped off when this bar was mega cheap. Even so my knurling is very passive. Some said their is great so much be batching inconsistency. The end cap is sick and I mean the name is epic. The bar itself ....eh...

Bought this on a deep discount and am very impressed for the money. Knurling has a few spots that didn't come out right, but the parts I hold for deadlifts feel really nice. I don't personally love 27mm bars, but that's a me issue. Solid value, solid bar.

I bought this deadlift bar when it was heavily discounted. Before I bought it, others had told me that these bars in particular had some issues where some bars would have aggressive knurl and others more passive. When I received this bar I compared it with my Rogue Ohio deadlift bar. The knurl is very comparable but a little more aggressive than the Ohio and feels great in the hand. The whip is good also. Overall a great deadlift bar from a small American company for a great price.
